Male Head From a Funerary Bust
This limestone of male bust sculpture is common in Roman funerary practices. The lips still retain traces of red pigment, giving an idea of what the object might have looked like when buried. The face is flat and very triangular, the surface of the skin is rough and looks like it was worked with a coarse tool of some sort.
