Female Funerary Bust

Female Funerary Bust, Early 3rd . CE

This hard buff limestone funerary bust is sculpted with a female figure, but the overall surface is very worn which makes it difficult to see fine details.  The hair is parted in large, thick sections and is worn in a melon coiffure.  The sculpture features two earrings and the suggestion of a garment of some sort.
