Colored Mosaic Fragment

Excavators at Beth Shean found a variety of colored tesserae that clearly show the range of hues mosaicists could use to decorate homes, business, and worship spaces. While many used local stone, some incorporated glass and shades of rock that must have been imported for the purpose.
